Being bored in
class has become one of the most common problem that all students experienced
at least once during their academy study. Each student have their own ways in
order to survive this stage of horror. These are 3 things
that I usually do whenever the class vibe is not that interesting.
The most often thing that I usually do is taking pictures
with my phone. There are so many things that I could archive inside my phone. Most
of them is Presentation Slide. Rather than writing as fast as I can until I
can’t read my own hand-writing, I chose the smart solution. I would just take
the pictures instead and re-write it on my own pace later. The bad part about
it is that I always forget to re-write it later. Another thing that I usually do is taking a picture of my friend’s note.
Sometimes the lecturer material is too small complex that I can't
even understand the material itself. In this kind of situation, friend's note
is always the best option. It's simpler and brain-friendly. Besides, the more
reference the better, right?
However, there are moments
where I was too fed up with the class, I can't even keep my concentrate for 5
minutes. In this kind of situation, rather than
taking pictures of materials, I would rather taking pictures of my friends
instead. Believe me, whenever a class is too boring, I'm 100% sure I'm not
the only one who felt that way. I would check on my other classmates situation,
and take some funny photos of them sleeping, playing with their phones, doing
some silly stuffs, etc. I always got a lot of blackmail materials after this. If it turns out all of my friends were still fighting to
listen to the class, I would usually encourage them to take selfies with me to
help them to get distracted from the lecture. You're welcome, my friends.
But sometimes, there
are lecturers that didn't like it when their students are playing with their
phone. For this kind of situation, I would use
whatever source that I could get to 'run away' from the lecture, which is Drawing.
I was reading posts the other day and then I found this meme that
said, "Every boring class become an art class". And let me tell you,
it is absolutely true. I don't really get the idea either, why drawing suddenly
become a wonderful option in a boring class, but I still did it anyway. And
in terms of drawing, I don't think that
we really need to have drawing skills like Picasso whatsoever. If you guys
looked at my drawings, I guarantee you guys will laugh your a-*cough* off. I
draw like a 3-years old! But hey, I still did it anyway. Things that I draw is
completely, how should I say it, 'unique'. I
could draw my friend's face, the lecturers explaining the material, a bottle
that are standing in front of a table, or just random imaginations that came
inside my head. It actually reminds me when I was still a high school student. Me
and my best friend would get bored in Physics class and we just decided to draw
a completely random thing on a piece of paper. But then those random drawings
that we made eventually became a short story of 2 ghosts exploring the
under-realm and they ended up racing to see who got the finish line first.
Pretty random? You tell me. But one thing for sure, all of those have one thing
in common. They are terrible drawing.
The last thing that I could think of in order to survive the
torture, is just simply Daydreaming. I could pretty much go to
every places, every situations, every realm, every timeline, or everything. The
only limit is my imagination. It doesn't require any energy or rapid movements.
Just simply sit there, and let my mind do all of the work for me. One thing
that I always be aware of, is to NEVER daydream while staring at the lecturer.
Although it might works sometimes because it's as if I was paying attention to
the class, it never end up well most of the time. Some strategy that I usually do is I would holding on to my
pen, and look at my notebook. It's the safest position for me. Just make sure not to close my
eyes while I'm daydreaming, or I might end up sleeping.
In sum, there are so
many things in order to not get in trouble because of not paying attention to
the class. It could be taking pictures, drawing things, or just get out from
the class 'Thoughtfully' . Get it? Nonetheless, there are so many other things
that are possible to do in boring class, this just one of the three
possibilities that I could think of.
your information is useful and very honest :)
